About the event
How to decorate for Chinese New Year in traditional way? Chinese calligraphy hanging decorations are one of the oldest traditions to celebrate Chinese New Year. During this one hour workshop, you will learn some basic Chinese calligraphy skills and write calligraphy hanging cards as decoration or gift for your family / friends!
For any levels of Chinese calligraphy lovers, welcome to join InkJoyGraphy's Chinese Couplets WorkshopWorkshop schedule:
- We'll start together with a short introduction to Chinese calligraphy, covering different fonts, techniques for holding the brush, etc.
- Following the introduction, we'll proceed with some strokes practice to familiarise everyone with the basics.
- After approximately 15-20 minutes, participants can choose which characters they'd like to work on.
- They will then have time to practice their chosen characters before finally writing them on the provided red hanging cards.
